The Plotter Report

Ashleigh Phillips Foster's Pattern of Severe Inaccuracy

and Disturbing Stance Regarding the Holocaust

Ashleigh gets exposed for her twisted use of a well-known true story about a family that saved the lives of an estimated 800 Jews and other refugees during the Holocaust. She uses this story to try to make a ludicrous point about lying and portray Medical Medium negatively. In the process of doing so, Ashleigh ironically gets no less than 18 facts wrong, she expresses extremely offensive viewpoints about our duties to protect those like the Jews during the Holocaust, and Ashleigh provides a perfect example that everyone can verify of just how deeply she manipulates, butchers, and twists the stories she tells to serve her own agenda.
Here, Ashleigh concludes her butchered version of this story by asserting her viewpoint that anyone who lied to the Nazis to protect and save the lives of Jews during the Holocaust was morally wrong.

Ashleigh is saying that she believes everyone should have been honest with the Nazi soldiers, even if it led to more Jews being mass murdered. Ashleigh declares that one should not be concerned with the consequences of their actions, even in the context of the Holocaust and even if their actions enable genocide.

Ironically, Ashleigh told 18 falsities in a story she tried to use to make a ridiculous point about lying. Ashleigh uses derogatory terms to refer to what the Ten Boom family heroically did to save the lives of an estimated 800 Jews from being murdered. Ashleigh even goes as far as to degrade their character.

The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

The following social media posts that were made by Ashleigh Phillips Foster on July 7th of 2023 reference a well-known true story about the experiences of a family that saved the lives of an estimated 800 Jews and other refugees during the Holocaust.

Ashleigh manipulates the story, gets no less than 18 facts wrong, expresses extremely disturbing viewpoints regarding the Holocaust, and disgraces the names of honorary individuals who risked their lives to save others during World War II.

The story of the Ten Booms was recounted in a book, called The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom. This book can be used to independently fact check Ashleigh’s false information.

Background:

Here is an excerpt about the Ten Boom family from the official website of the museum dedicated to preserving its historical legacy:

THE TEN BOOM FAMILY

In 1837, Willem Ten Boom opened a watch shop in this house. He lived with his family in the rooms above the shop. The home was later passed down to Willem's son Casper, and then to Casper's daughter, Corrie.

The Ten Boom family were devoted Christians who dedicated their lives in service to God and their fellow man. Through the years the Ten Booms were active in social work in Haarlem. Their faith inspired them to serve the religious community and society at large.

In the 1920s and '30s, the Ten Boom family took in many foster children, whose parents were doing missionary work.

A HIDING PLACE DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR

During the Second World War, the Ten Boom home became a refuge, a hiding place, for fugitives and those hunted by the Nazis. By protecting these people, Casper and his daughters, Betsie and Corrie, risked their lives. This non-violent resistance against the Nazi-oppressors was the Ten Boom's way of living out their Christian faith.

During 1943 and into 1944, there were usually 5-6 people illegally living in the Ten Boom home: some of whom were Jews and others members of the Dutch underground. Additional refugees would stay with the Ten Booms for a few hours or a few days until another 'safe house' could be located for them.

Through these activities, the Ten Boom Family and their many friends and coworkers of 'the BeJe group' saved the lives of an estimated 800 Jews and other refugees.

FALSITIES:

1. It was Betsie’s sister, Nollie, and Nollie’s daughter, Cocky, who were convicted about honesty and struggled with the concept of telling lies in order to save Jewish life - NOT Betsie. Betsie was clear in her stance that, under the circumstances of the Nazi regime, it was the right thing to do to lie when necessary for the purposes of saving innocent lives.
*Note: Ashleigh also got the name of the concentration camp wrong. It's Ravensbruck, not "Ravebruck."

FALSITIES:

2. Again, it was NOT Betsie who was convicted about honesty. It was Nollie and Nollie’s daughter, Cocky.

3.What Ashleigh is referring to is NOT a singular story. In the next several pages, you’ll see that Ashleigh incorrectly conflated multiple stories of separate instances.

FALSITIES:

4. The incident involving the kitchen table occurred when there was a Razzia. A Razzia was a hostile raid in which the Germans would come to forcibly enlist young males in Holland to work in munitions factories. The Ten Boom family had the young men in their household hide in a cellar with a trapped door underneath the kitchen table.

5. The target of this raid was NOT Jews to be placed in concentration camps. It was Dutch boys, like Corrie’s nephews, that the Nazis wanted to enlist to work in factories.

6. During the Razzia, Corrie’s nephews did NOT hide underneath the table because they didn’t have enough timeto “fully hide.” There was actually a cellar underneath the kitchen table that had been specifically designed for hiding from Nazi soldiers and other threats. The cellar under the table is exactly where the boys intended to go.

FALSITIES:

7. This is not the question that was asked. In fact, the German soldier asked, “Where are your brothers? Do you have brothers? How old are they? Where are they now?” Again, in this incident, the soldiers were looking for Dutch boys, NOT Jews.

8. It was NOT Betsie who the soldiers questioned. It was Cocky, Betsie’s niece.

FALSITIES:

9. This is not what happened. Cocky, not Betsie, at first tried to avoid the question. Next, when pressured, Cocky tells the soldiers that two of her brothers were under the table. But then Cocky burst out laughing, which tricked them. The Nazis thought that she was joking, they got upset, and they left. The soldiers did not capture any of the boys.

FALSITIES:

10. This is where Ashleigh began conflating different incidents. There was a different event, separate from the kitchen table story, in which one individual woman, NOT a couple, was taken away to the old Jewish theatre in Amsterdam. The theatre was a holding place from which Jews could be transported to concentration camps.

11. Even in this other incident that occurred at a completely different time than the kitchen table story, the Jewish woman who was captured, Annaliese, was never taken to a concentration camp.

12. Corrie was NOT horrified nor crushed by the kitchen table incident. The kitchen table incident, in fact, made Corrie start to question the logic of Nollie and her daughter, Cocky, who nearly gave her brothers up to the Nazis. Corrie was horrified and crushed by the theatre incident that resulted in Anneliese being captured by the Nazis, which happened later on.

13. It was NOT Betsie who held fast to her conviction. It was Nollie, and it was in a completely different incident.

FALSITIES:

14. The kitchen table incident was further than a week apart from this event. Ashleigh conflated different incidents and got the timeline wrong.

15. In the other story involving Annaliese, it was NOT a concentration camp that got liberated. Annaliese was being held in the Old Jewish Theatre, and the theatre was broken into.

16. The book does NOT specify that the theatre was broken into by allied forces.

17. NOT everyone in the theatre was transported to freedom. Only 40 Jews were rescued, and it was NOT a concentration camp that they were coming from.

18. Annaliese was part of those 40 rescued Jews, but she was NOT part of a “couple.”

ASHLEIGH’S LUDICROUS POSITION:

Here, Ashleigh Phillips Foster concludes her butchered version of this story by asserting her viewpoint that anyone who lied to the Nazis to protect and save the lives of Jews during the Holocaust was morally wrong. Ashleigh is saying that she believes everyone should have been honest with the Nazi soldiers, even if it led to more Jews being mass murdered. Ashleigh declares that one should not be concerned with the consequences of their actions, even in the context of the Holocaust and even if their actions enable genocide.

IRONIC, DEMEANING, & OFFENSIVE

Ironically, Ashleigh Phillips Foster told 18 falsities in a story she tried to use to make a ridiculous point about lying. Ashleigh uses derogatory terms to refer to what the Ten Boom family heroically did to save the lives of an estimated 800 Jews from being murdered. Ashleigh even goes as far as to degrade their character.

If members of the Ten Boom family did not lie to the Nazi oppressors who were committing atrocities, those 800 Jews would have died, and Ashleigh believes that would have been the most morally suitable outcome.

ASHLEIGH GRAVELY MISSED THE MARK

Betsie and Corrie Ten Boom took on the role of protecting and saving Jews. They are the heroes of the story. Their other sister, Nollie, and her daughter, Cocky (NOT Betsie, whom Ashleigh confused them with) are the ones who were struggling with the concept of lying. But throughout the story, Nollie’s family pointed out her illogic. Nollie was still “DOING” lies with her actions, even if she wouldn’t tell lies from her lips with words. And Nollie taught her  daughter to think in the same illogical way.

For example, to Nollie, as well as Cocky, it was okay to partake in creating the hiding spot in the cellar under the kitchen table for her sons to deceive and hide from German soldiers in. But when the soldiers asked Cocky a question, she felt that she must tell the truth from her lips, even though it nearly harmed her brothers

It was an inconsistency that was directly addressed in the book itself, such as in the following excerpt:
“It was a strange dinner party that evening, veering as it did from heartfelt thanksgiving to the nearest thing to a bitter argument our close knit-family has ever had. Nollie stuck by Cocky, insisting she would have answered the same way. “God honors truth telling with perfect protection!”

Peter and Bob, from the viewpoint of the trapped door, weren’t so sure. And neither was I.

…I could spot the illogic. “And it isn’t logical to say the truth and do a lie!
What about Annaliese’s false papers – and that maid’s uniform on  Katrien!”

DISGRACE TO HEROES & JEWISH PEOPLE

Finally, 18 falsities later and on top of the reprehensible spin she put on a Holocaust story, Ashleigh also disrespected the names of true heroes. Betsie and Corrie Ten Boom were incredible, honorable leaders. By demonizing the decisions these women made in order to save hundreds of Jewish lives, Ashleigh utterly disgraces their legacy, in addition to Jewish people as a whole.

Ashleigh has since removed these posts from her social media.
